Join us at the Sangha on May 18th, 2025 at 5pm to celebrate Vesak! We will be having a vegetarian pitch-in if you’d like to bring something to share. Vesak celebrates the birth, enlightenment, and death of the Buddha. Those interested can take the precepts at this celebration and/or bring flowers for the Buddha. We will have a short meditation before the Vesak ceremony and hope to see you there!

Join us on Thursday, May 1st at the Four Freedoms Monument in downtown Evansville at 12pm for the National Day of Prayer. Various faith leaders (including a representative from the Sangha) will be offering short prayers during this annual event.

Due to the impending storms, the Board has decided to cancel tonight’s meditation. Be safe and we’ll see you next week!

Starting this Sunday, February 23rd, the door to the sangha will be locked promptly at 6pm. Please plan accordingly to arrive a little before 6pm if you plan to sit with us. Mollie Pharo is offering a 20 minute silent meditation on Zoom Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 10am-10:20am. If you’d like a way to keep your meditation practice active and sit (virtually) with others in the community feel free to contact Mollie at mpharo51@hotmail.com for the Zoom link.

Please join us for a potluck picnic at Wesselman Park on Sunday October 20 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. We will be in Shelter House #1 ….that’s the first one that you come to. All are welcome. Please bring a vegetarian dish to share and your own non-alcoholic drinks. The sangha will supply plates, napkins, cups, knives/forks/spoons, and water. At 6:00 pm we will build a fire in the fireplace and have a 40 minute sitting meditation. Bring lawn chairs to use for the meditation. We look forward to seeing you there!

Because of the picnic there will not be the usual meditation at the meditation hall.

Mindful Heart Buddha Sangha will be having a death, dying, and grief open discussion on Saturday October 19 from 2 until 3 pm at the meditation hall at 600 N Weinbach Ave Suite 220. Please join us.

We are interested in starting an open discussion group on death, dying, and grief. The discussion group is not Buddhist oriented, and no subject about death and dying is off the table.
